Ernest Hemingway
He was born in Oak Park, Illinois. At the age of seventeen, started his career as a writer in Kansas City. He joined a volunteer ambulance unit in the Italian army after the United States entered WWI Serving at the front, He was hurt numerous times, was praised by the Italian Government, and spent uncountable hours in hospitals. After arriving back at the U.S., his writing skills earned him a spot as a writer for Canadian and American newspapers He was sent to Europe to cover events pertaining to the Greek Revolution. Hemingway became a member of the group of expatriate Americans in Paris in the twenties. He mentioned this in The Sun Also Rises (1926). As a reporter in Spain during the civil war, he used his experiences to create, For Whom the Bell Tolls (1940).

Ernest Hemingway was able to live a prosperous life until he was at the age of 61. As he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and insomnia, he established an addiction to alcohol. He was later diagnosed with diabetes and suffered from liver failure. His life and career was basically over at that time. He suffered severe amnesia after the electro-convulsive therapy was not successful. The memory loss disrupted his writing career and the everyday life he loved. He committed suicide in 1961.
Any struggle is hard to overcome. Ernest Hemingway's bipolar disoder was hard to overcome and it led to his death. I believe that he suffered from post-traumatic stress after his time in the war was over. Like any disorder, the effects that a person has are unimaginable. I also thought that his disorder could have been linked to the paternal line in the family. They suffered from a hereditary disease called haemochromatosis which the body had excess iron concentration in the blood. Members of his family including his father and his sisters also committed suicide. Ernest was a good man that wrote many books that will influence many people in society today.

I think you described Ernest Hemingway's life very well. I think you should add more about his bipolar disorder and insomnia and maybe tell some of the things he did that showed those disorders. Other than that, great job! I give you a 97
I'm noticing that a lot of people are essentially attributing most mental illnesses to 'bi-polar' disorder, which can ususally be correct (in certian cases, such as this one) but just explore around with other mental illness possibilities, I would say he might even have different disorders like BPD, depression, disthymia, ect.
But it was written really well and had a lot of insight. (:

Hemingway had a really tragic life. Everything just kinda seemed to go wrong for him, and he ends up killing himself. You covered the story well and all the parts aout his life really showed how much it tied into his work. Very very sad.
